MARK PROCTOR - U18s Coach
MARK PROCTOR made his debut as a player in 1978, re-signed in 1989 and was on the coaching staff in 1998.
Proc made his way through the junior ranks to make 246 appearances for Middlesbrough, his home town club. A gifted midfielder who would stroke the ball around with style, Mark scored 20 goals in his time at Ayresome Park before moving to Nottingham Forest in 1981.
He helped Forest to reach sixth and seventh place in what is now the Premier League before moving on to Sunderland where he stayed for four and half years before another move took him to Sheffield Wednesday.
A return to Teesside came in 1989 as Mark joined Boro for a second time and he played in the Zenith Cup final, Boro's first Wembley appearance, before going on to join Tranmere Rovers in 1993.
Mark also made six appearances for Hartlepool United before turning to the coaching side of the game.
In 1997 he completed his Advanced Coaching Licence and became coach of Boro's Under 17 team in 1998. He took over the Under 19s in 2000 and was the coach of the side which won the FA Youth Cup in 2004.
He moved on to become manager of Boro's reserve side before joining the first team coaching staff at Darlington and then up to Scottish Premier League side Hibernian, where he was first team coach under Tony Mowbray.
He completed his Pro Licence in 2007 and was for a time caretaker manager of Hibs following Mowbray's departure to West Brom. A change of a managerial position came that year and Mark joined Scottish First Division side Livingston.
But once again the lure of the Boro proved strong and Mark returned as U18s coach in September 2008.
