ENGLAND U21's 2-0 win over Wales last week has officially re-written the Boro record books.

Lee Cattermole, Adam Johnson, David Wheater and Andrew Taylor all started the game meaning there were four Boro players in an England U21 line-up for the first time in the club's history.

It beats the record set in the following games:

Nov 2007 - Portugal (a) - Wheater, Johnson, Cattermole

Nov 2007 - Bulgaria (h) - Wheater, Cattermole, Johnson (sub)

Feb 1981 - Republic of Ireland (h) - Johnston, Hodgson, Proctor (sub)

Tottenham had two players representing their club in the same game with Tom Huddlestone and sub Jamie O'Hara but every other man used by Stuart Pearce did not have another domestic team-mate on the pitch.

Boro had three players in an U21 friendly at St James Park, Newcastle between England and Republic of Ireland in November 1994. Graham Kavanagh and Alan Moore both played for the Irish while Jamie Pollock came on as sub for England

But it still doesn't beat a remarkable England U18 game v Belgium in March 2004 when six Boro players were on duty!

The Boro players in the side were Andrew Taylor, Gary Liddle, Matthew Bates, James Morrison and Tony McMahon (sub).

Michele Van Geele, another product of the Boro Academy at the time, came on as sub for the Belgian team.
