Isaiah's Hungry For More Action
HE admitted to being nervous at times on his debut and baffled by the result, but Isaiah Osbourne says he has settled in well with his new club.
The 21-year-old midfielder became the 27th player to appear for the team this season when making his debut at Crystal Palace and came in for praise from Gordon Strachan for his display.
Afterwards he admitted: "I was quite nervous, not having played for a while, but it felt good to have a Boro shirt on."
Boro lost a second successive game for the first time this season and slipped to 10th place as Darren Ambrose scored the only goal of the game in the second half at Selhurst Park.
But Strachan's team should have put the game to bed long before the former Newcastle player's 10th of the season. Boro missed four clear-cut chances, one in the first and three in the second half.
"We should have done better," said Osbourne, who is on loan from Aston Villa for two months. "We should have put those chances away. We're baffled how we lost, but from what I've heard it's been like that all season.
"My first impression has been a good impression, this feels like a Premier club. There's a lot of work to do but if we put it in there's no reason why we can't get it back there."
Osbourne, who turns 22 on Thursday, played part of last season on loan with Boro's next opponents, Nottingham Forest.
"I'm very much looking forward to it," he says smiling. "Hopefully I can score! I haven't played for a long time and I feel like I need to play a few more to make it all come together."
