Middlesbrough Football Club was saddened to learn of the death of its oldest surviving former player, Martin Reagan.
Mr Reagan passed away peacefully aged 92 on Boxing Day. He will be laid to rest at a funeral service in The Church of Our Lady, Gale Lane, Acomb, near York at 10am on Thursday January 19, followed by a service for family only at York Crematorium.
His family are asking for family flowers only please. Donations in lieu, if desired, to Action for Blind People and Dementia U.K. A plate will be provided at the service.
Pictured here third from the right on the front row, Martin Reagan, a former D-Day veteran tank commander, was born in Newcastle and made 24 appearances for Boro between 1948 and 1951, scoring four goals.
He went on to manage the England Womens’ team, taking charge of 96 matches in an 11-year stay which began in 1979 and included the European Championship final in 1984.
