Wheats Calls For Fighting Spirit
DAVID WHEATER knows Boro have to play much better this Saturday and has called for a performance full of character.
The England U21 international cut a forlorn figure following the heavy defeat to Chelsea last weekend and is determined to eradicate the errors that cost the team so dearly.
"We've watched the game again and have seen what we've done wrong but we can't dwell too much. The defending was poor and we've been working hard on the training ground to put things right.
"The Blackburn game is what we are building to now and we have to be fully focussed for that."

Wheater felt the performance at Chelsea was similar to the one against Cardiff last year and wants the team to bounce back instantly as they did against Aston Villa following the defeat by the Bluebirds.
"No one gave us a hope against Villa following our FA Cup exit last season and we have to show the same sort resilience at Blackburn.
"They aren't at their very best at the moment either and we need to take advantage of that.
"There's a bit of unrest going on at the moment with the likes of Roque Santa Cruz who was reported as saying he wanted to play for Manchester City I believe and I hope he doesn't play on Saturday! Yet I'm sure Paul Ince will have his side drilled, whoever starts."

But the 21-year-old says everyone is still pulling in the right direction back on Teesside and will be doing their very best to bring home three points.
"Everyone is still together at this football club. We have to put right what happened last Saturday and go and get a positive result at Blackburn.
"We have the players and the talent capable to do that, without question."
