FORMERLY a director of the club, George now oversees Middlesbrough's thriving Community Project.  

He was initially seconded from ICI and joined the board in 1994.

"The two memories of my time that stand out are the last game at Ayresome Park and the opening game at the Riverside because that's what I was brought onto the board for, to guide us into the new stadium," he says.
