US international Brad Guzan joined Boro in July 2016 after an eight-year spell in the Premier League with Aston Villa.
Guzan began his professional career with the now-defunct Chivas USA, where he was named the Major League Soccer Goalkeeper of the Year in 2007.
After making the move to England in 2008, Guzan initially struggled to nail down a starting spot at Villa Park and spent a short time on loan at Hull City in the Championship.
It was in the 2012-13 season that the American earned the Villans’ number one jersey, and was a near ever-present between the sticks at the club over the next four years.
A veteran of 50 caps, Guzan was awarded the Golden Glove when his native US hosted the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
