Brighton-based illustrator designer Sean Sims’ creations often draw inspiration from his hometown of Middlesbrough.

Sims studied illustration at Cleveland College of Art & Design and his designs often profile key elements of the area’s sporting history, including iconic heritage sites and famous players from Boro’s past.

Sean Sims’ infographic design featuring Boro home shirts spanning the club’s early days to the Riverside era will evoke memories for supporters who have a favourite kit or associate a player or special Ayresome Park moment with a particular shirt. His iconic 'V-sign' sew on Boro patch, based upon those produced for countless football clubs by 'Splash Patches' in the 1970s, goes back to an era before the appropriation of replica shirts when the sew-on patch on a denim jacket became an integral part of terrace fashion.
