The background
Stourbridge have hit some mighty highs in recent years, with back-to-back promotions in the 2021/22 and 2022/23 seasons earning them a place in the FAWNL Premier Division North.
In the last campaign, the Glassgirls finished 10th in the league, with a comfortable seven-point cushion separating them from the drop zone below them, but still managed just four wins all season.
However, this season has got off to a tough start for Stourbridge having lost all of their four league games so far, most recently being on the wrong end of a 9-0 scoreline against Nottingham Forest.
The Glassgirls' only win so far has come in the cup, a 2-1 in over Boldemere St Michael's has earned them a spot in the Preliminary Round of the League Cup and the chance at a cup run.
Key Players
After joining from West Brom in 2023, Rosie Embley won the Glassgirls Player of The Year award last season and played a crucial role across the defence and midfield as they began life in the Premier Division.
Leoni Joyce played joined Stourbridge in the summer after a good season last season where she scored a combined 10 goals at Sporting Khalsa and Leafield Athletic and recently got off the mark for the Glassgirls in their 4-2 loss to Hull City.
Tilly Fantom is also a new face among the Stourbridge squad, having joined from Lincoln City in the summer, where she played 24 games and was a mainstay in the Imps squad, despite being just 20. Capable of playing in defence and across midfield Tilly gathered a nature of being a tough tackler and a physical presence during her time at the Imps.
