After last week's Premier League Cup final at the Riverside, Boro's Under-18s were back to the bread and butter of the league campaign with two fixtures at Rockliffe Park.
Having smashed eight past Sunderland in early March, Boro were looking for a second successive league victory as Blackburn Rovers came to Teesside.
Goals from Isaac Fletcher and Joe Gibson gave our youngsters an early lead, but Rovers fought back for a point with goals from Luke Brennan and Ben Pleavin.
On Saturday, there was chance for a little bit of revenge as Mark Tinkler's side faced Man City - the side who had edged past our youngsters by a single goal in the Premier League Cup final nine days earlier.
It was City who got off to a flying start, two up in six minutes through goals from Taylor Richards and Henri Ogunby.
But Hayden Hackney struck back for Boro within two minutes of the restart, with Gabby McGill levelling things up from the spot after Gibson had been felled in the area. Nicholas Hood gave Boro the lead with a powerful header before Alberto Balde added a fourth, rounding the keeper and tucking into an empty net.

Boro's Under-18s are next in competitive action a week on Saturday, away to Blackburn with a 12 noon kick-off, although we entertain a side from Tokyo at Rockliffe on Tuesday afternoon.
Our Under-23s return the following day after the international window, with a match against Sunderland at the Riverside with a 1pm start.
