Terry Stephenson scored an 118th-minute winner for Boro's Under-18s in an intensely competitive Premier League Cup semi-final with Derby County on Saturday.
Playing in a more advanced role than his usual fare, Papua New Guinea-born Stephenson, who turned 17 last month, had seen a shot saved with Boro's best chance minutes earlier.
But he made no mistake at the second attempt, slotting into the bottom corner to give Mark Tinkler's side victory.
At the other end, goalkeeper Sol Brynn made a number of outstanding saves and central defender Nicholas Hood made one terrific block to deny the visitors as Boro stuck to the task doggedly.

Boro's Under-18s are next in action on Saturday - against the same opponents at the same venue, this time in the Premier League.
Our Under-23s, meanwhile, return to competitive form for the first time in over a month with a trip to Aston Villa on Monday evening (kick-off 7pm).
