Adam Clayton says Boro will be targeting a fifth successive win in Saturday's televised trip to Nottingham Forest (12.30pm).

Aitor Karanka's side travel to the City Ground this weekend on the back of four straight wins, three in the league, a run which has propelled Boro to second in the table.

Forest have won their last two, though, and are returning home looking for a win which would take them into the play-off places.

"We'll go there to win the game like we do every game," said Clayton.

"If we can come away with the three points it's a great start to the month and then we'll go into the Leeds game the following week.

"Everyone at this club is trying to get into the Premier League and we're all pulling in the same direction.

"So if we can keep that togetherness and hunger and desire going then we won't be far off."

Boro's fine home form was a major factor in the team's journey to the play-off final last season, and Clayton believes a similar formula will be key to winning automatic promotion this time around.

"It's just about the consistency and if you can average two points a game for the rest of the season then more often than not you get promoted," he said.

"We just need to keep ticking over. Win our home games and don't lose away and we'll be fine."
