Adam Clayton has put pen to paper on a new contract that sees him commit his future to Boro until 2021.
The 28-year-old joined Boro from Huddersfield in the summer of 2014 and has been an ever-present in Aitor Karanka's midfield, from the side winning promotion from the Championship and to this season in the Premier League.
A fan favourite, Clayton has received accolades aplenty from the stands having been named as last season's Player of the Year from both Middlesbrough Official Supporters Club and Middlesbrough Supporters South.
He said: "I've put pen to paper, finally. It's been going on in the background for a few weeks so to get it over the line and guarantee myself coming here for the next couple of years is really good."
