With the two biggest shows of support for Boro so far this season coming within the space of 48 hours, Adam Reach says he can't wait to see the fans arrive in numbers over the Christmas period.

For starters, Boro are closing in on 30,000 ticket sales for Nottingham Forest on Boxing Day and will have the highest attendance at the Riverside Stadium so far this season.

And Adam says he and his teammates have been hoping to see the fans arrive in numbers for an important clash with Stuart Pearce's side.

"The home support is very important," he said. "All of the players are hoping that there will be a big crowd on Boxing Day.

"As long as we keep getting results the fans will come back but if we start dropping points and putting in poor performances then understandably we won't see high attendances.

"We want to keep doing well and get a huge crowd against Forest."

The fans' away support this year has also been massive, with sell outs at Liverpool, Rotherham, Huddersfield, Wigan and most recently Blackburn - a day that could see Boro take the biggest away following in the Football League so far this season, with just under 7,000 to Ewood Park.

"It's brilliant playing away from home and seeing that many Boro fans, especially in the Championship" said Adam.

"There are a lot of teams in this division who don't get a lot of fans there themselves, so when we're getting five, six and seven thousand it really puts you on the front foot.

"Plus, our away form has been very good this season and I think that's down to the amount of fans that have supported us."
