Adama was shown a straight red card in the 37th minute of the 3-3 draw, but that has now been rescinded and the player no longer faces the prospect of a four-match suspension.

The appeal was heard by the Football Association on Tuesday afternoon, and as a result, Adama is now available for selection by manager Tony Pulis for Friday's game against Leeds United.

An FA statement read: "Adama Traore will be available for Middlesbrough’s next four games after an Independent Regulatory Commission accepted that he was wrongly dismissed for violent conduct against Sunderland on Saturday [24 February]."
