Aitor Karanka says he will consider all his defensive options after ruling Daniel Ayala out of Tuesday's trip to MK Dons.
The central defender was withdrawn moments before half-time of Saturday's 1-1 draw with Blackburn Rovers after falling awkwardly and the resultant injury will see him miss the club's first ever Sky Bet Championship to Stadium:mk.
"We have options," said Karanka. "We have Alex Baptiste, Tomas Kalas, Dael Fry, and Rhys Williams so it's not a problem.
"Dani is a good player but without him we have won games, so we have options of who to bring in.
"Dani can't play on Tuesday, but it's not serious and I hope he can train as soon as possible."
Kalas and Fry have both featured at the heart of the defence this season while Williams has returned from a long-term injury by playing four games during a month-long loan spell at Charlton Athletic.
Baptiste hasn't featured since the opening pre-season game, where he suffered a double fracture of the leg at York City, but he is training in the first team and has played for the Under-21s.
"He's been training with us and has played games so I am happy with him," said Karanka.
"He's impressed me since he got injured, and he's with us on the pitch now and his attitude is amazing.
"I have to know how they are though and I don't want to make a mistake and lose everything they have done until this moment."
