Wednesday June 15 is a date etched in the diary of all Boro fans with the release of the Premier League fixtures.

While the club has played a number of the top-flight sides in recent years - beating both Manchester clubs on their own patch - excitement will be high when the fixture list plots out Boro's Premier League return.

The weekend of August 13 will mark the start of the new season, when Boro officially return to Premier League action, and defender and lifelong fan Ben Gibson is hoping for a tasty opener.

"One of the big boys would be good...maybe Chelsea or Manchester United at home," said Gibson.

"When I was growing up we used to give Man United and Chelsea a torrid time at home.

"The Riverside was rocking. It was sold out, the atmosphere was unbelievable and I was one of those in the West Stand singing my heart out.

"I would love to get one of those at home and get the atmosphere like it was the other day.

"When the Riverside is like that it's a difficult place to play football."
