Winger Marvin Johnson has joined Boro from Oxford United on a three-year deal.
Birmingham-born Johnson, 26, has worked his way up through the lower leagues and started his career with Solihull Moors before moving to Romulus in the Northern Premier League.
From there he moved up the ladder to Kidderminster Harriers where he played over 100 games, catching the eye of Motherwell, for whom he made over 50 appearances before returning to England with Oxford.
He has represented the Birmingham FA and had loan spells with Coleshill Town and Hednesford Town.
He will wear squad number 21.
