Paddy McNair and George Saville finally signed off for the season on Thursday as Northern Ireland were defeated in Ukraine.

The duo both started the second of the country's friendly internationals this week and both played the full 90 minutes of the 1-0 reverse in Dnipro.

A 10th-minute goal settled a frenetic encounter, although McNair, Boro's POTY, came close to snatching a late equaliser when he sent a free-kick just wide.

Earlier in the week they had both played in part in ensuring Northern Ireland manager Ian Baraclough picked up his first victory since taking on the job almost a year ago when they were victorious in Malta.

That brings to a conclusion the season for the two Boro men and Northern Ireland don't return to action until September when they continue their World Cup qualifying campaign with games against Lithuania and Switzerland.
