Paddy McNair and George Saville both featured as Northern Ireland picked up the first point of their World Cup qualification campaign against Bulgaria.
The Boro pair were alongside each other in the centre of a five-man midfield for Ian Baraclough's side, Saville playing 74 minutes and McNair the full 90. Also involved in the centre of the park was Steven Davis, earning a British record 126th international cap.
The Northern Irish dominated in Belfast without finding a breakthrough, though they had goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell to thank for a vital save late on to keep it scoreless.
The result means the Green And White Army are off the mark with their first point in qualifying for Qatar 2022, though they would have no doubt have liked two more in pursuit of Italy and Switzerland in Group C.
It rounds off another busy international break for Boro duo McNair and Saville, who head back to their club ahead of our return to action away at Bournemouth in less than 48 hours' time.
