Boro have completed the signing of goalkeeper Andy Lonergan.
The 34-year-old brings a wealth of experience, having clocked almost 400 career appearances since starting out as a youngster with his hometown club Preston North End.
Lonergan’s career has also taken in spells with Darlington, Blackpool, Wycombe, Swindon, Leeds, Bolton, Fulham, and Wolves, but it was Preston where he clocked up over 200 appearances during a decade long-stay.
Lonergan returned to Leeds United for a second spell last season, where he made nine appearances including our 2-1 defeat at Elland Road last November.
Lonergan now joins up with Boro on a one-year contract to further add to the goalkeeping cover available in the squad. He will wear the no.31 shirt.
