Aitor Karanka and his Boro squad have flown out to Marbella from Durham Tees Valley airport for some warm weather training.

The squad will be in Spain until Sunday and are heading to the Marbella Football Centre, where Boro have spent the last two pre-season campaigns.

Boro also flew out to the same complex at the end of last season, before the play-off semi-final against Brentford, and Karanka has taken advantage of the break in the fixture schedule this weekend.

With five new faces arriving last month, the trip is an opportunity for the squad to spend time together ahead of a busy period of fixtures.

The Teessiders will be back on home turf at the end of the weekend in preparation for next Tuesday's game against Cardiff City at the Riverside.
