Boro’s Under-23s will be boosted by the return of some familiar faces for Sunday’s trip to Darlington (1pm).
Josh Coburn, Hayden Hackney, Connor Malley, Jack Robinson and Sol Brynn are all added to the squad, fresh from first team duties this pre-season, in the hope of increasing their minutes on the pitch ahead of the new campaign.
The quintet should provide increased experience to what has largely been a young side featuring in our U23s friendlies so far this summer.
Our U23s went down 2-1 at Dunston in midweek and the trip to face Alun Armstrong’s National League North side will represent a step up for the Boro youngsters.
Boro fans can pay on the day at Blackwell Meadows and the home club have issued the below information for supporters planning to attend:
- The game at Blackwell Meadows will currently not be segregated and Middlesbrough fans will enter via the home turnstiles at the East of the ground.
- Middlesbrough fans will not have access to view the game from the East Stand (main home support stand) and this is clearly signed.
- Blackwell Meadows is a no smoking/vaping ground and this will be strictly monitored, with ejection for none compliance.
- Although most COVID 19 restrictions will have been lifted, we would still expect visiting fans to take a sensible approach to social distancing. QR code will still need to be scanned on entry. Sanitising stations will be available.
