Boro's three-goal haul against Millwall on Saturday was our quickest from the start of a match for over fifty years.

Not since September 1964, and a game versus Bolton Wanderers at Ayresome Park have the Boro found the net three times so rapidly after first whistle.

Bill Harris (5) [pictured], Arthur Kaye (pen 14) and Jim Townsend (16) were the scorers that day as the Teessiders raced away - it was 3-1 by half-time and finished 5-2 in Boro's favour.

In the 56 years since, Boro have managed to score three inside 21 minutes on two other occasions - once at Cardiff in May 2011 and again against Sheffield United at the Riverside in August 2018.

But having been completed a minute quicker, yesterday's 3-0 victory will go down as our fastest treble since the sixties.
