Britt Assombalonga has been named in DR Congo's provisional squad for the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Boro striker is one of 32 players in the provisional list, which will be shortened to 23 for the final tournament this summer.
The Leopards are set to travel to Spain for a training camp In preparation for the competition, and will there contest preliminary friendlies with Burkina Faso on June 9 and against Kenya on June 15.
Assombalonga will be looking to impress in those friendlies and earn a place in the final squad that travels to Egypt on June 21. The hosts are one of three teams DR Congo will be up against in the group stages, as well as Uganda and Zimbabwe.
One of Britt's Boro teammates last season will also hope to make his mark on the tournament - John Obi Mikel has also been named in a provisional squad for Nigeria.
In other international matters, Darren Randolph has been confirmed as part of the Republic of Ireland's final squad for their Euro 2020 qualifiers this summer, against Denmark and Gibraltar.
Randolph could come up against another Boro man, Martin Braithwaite has also been included for The Danes - they face Georgia as well as Mick McCarthy's Ireland side.
