Neil Warnock’s squad will head to Devon and Cornwall in pre-season.

Boro will be based in Cornwall for a week-long summer training camp and will play three games during the stay.

Saltash United will be the first opponents on Monday July 19 before we visit Tavistock AFC two days later. The trip will come to a conclusion in at Plymouth Argyle on Friday July 23.The three fixtures are provisionally scheduled for 7pm kick-offs.

Saltash, based just across the River Tamar from Plymouth, play their games in the South West Peninsula League Premier Division West while Tavistock compete in the Western Premier Division. Plymouth are currently in League One, having won promotion last season.

The boss took his squad to Cornwall last summer for the shortened pre-season when two games were played behind-closed-doors against Plymouth, but this time around the hope is that fans will get their first glimpses of Neil Warnock’s Boro in action.

“It always makes for a good pre-season in Cornwall when fans can come and with the restrictions on travelling abroad this summer this might give people something to look forward to,” said the boss.

“It’s a great part of the world to visit and hopefully, providing all goes to plan with the lifting of restrictions, we’ll see plenty of our supporters make the trip.”

Cornwall has long been Warnock’s preferred destination for pre-season and Boro follow in the footsteps of Sheffield United, Queens Park Rangers, and Cardiff City who all kicked off promotion campaigns in the south-west.

  • Mon July 19 Saltash United (7pm)
  • Wed July 21 Tavistock AFC (7pm)
