Boro's pre-season campaign continues in earnest this evening with a visit to York City (7pm).

After a productive week in the south-west, Neil Warnock's squad were back at Rockliffe on Monday for the penultimate week of pre-season fixtures.

Boro won all three games in Devon and Cornwall - rattling seven past Tavistock and ending with a victory at League One Plymouth Argyle in a game that saw Matt Crooks score his first goal for the club less than 12 hours after completing his move from Rotherham United.

Former Bristol City man Jamie Paterson is on Teesside after spending last week training with the squad in Cornwall. He made his debut at Plymouth and will be hoping to feature again at York.

Injuries ruled Marc Bola and Jonny Howson out of any meaningful action last week, but the latter could be set to make his first appearance of the summer at the LNER Community Stadium against York.

Lewis Wing and Hayden Coulson, goalscorers last week, also missed the Plymouth game due to slight injuries.

National League North side York have beaten Whitby Town and Newcastle United and drew with Sunderland last weekend.
