Republic of Ireland international Cyrus Christie is set to undergo a medical with Boro after the club agreed a deal with Derby County for the 24-year-old.
Christie will join Norwich City’s attacking midfielder Jonny Howson at Rockliffe Park as new Boro boss Garry Monk looks to complete a double transfer swoop ahead of the club’s warm-weather training camp in Portugal.
Despite his young years, Christie has already clocked up over 200 career appearances, having learnt his trade at Coventry City before moving to Derby in the summer of 2014.
Christie made 36 appearances for Derby last season and his most recent action was a World Cup qualifier for the Republic of Ireland against Austria last month.
Christie will join Boro subject to the completion of a medical and agreeing personal terms.
