Julien De Sart has returned to Belgium to join KV Kortrijk.
The 23-year-old’s two-and-a-half year stay with Boro officially comes to a close with the player making a permanent move back to his homeland.
Since joining in January 2016, De Sart has made just three appearances for Boro - two coming as a substitute during our promotion winning season and his only start, which came at Fulham in the Capital One Cup in August 2016.
The midfielder has had two outward loan spells while with Boro. The first was an 11-game stint at Derby during the 2016/17 season, and the second was a season-long loan at Belgian top-flight club Zulte Wagarem.
“I have really enjoyed my time here at Middlesbrough," he told mfc.co.uk.
"It’s been amazing even though I didn’t play as much as I would have hoped.
"I’ve met some fantastic people who I will miss dearly. I will always support the club and wish everyone connected with Boro the very best for the future.”
Julien departs with the best wishes of all at MFC.
