Boro Head Coach Aitor Karanka had every reason to feel relaxed on transfer deadline day morning with his focus being on a double training session with his players.

Arsenal defender Calum Chambers became the club's tenth senior arrival of the summer on Tuesday evening, and Karanka was delighted that the majority of the club's business was conducted in advance of the traditional end of August scramble.

"I'm relaxed," said Karanka. "We have been prepared and the club has worked very hard over the summer to do what we wanted to do, and for this reason I am relaxed and happy.

"I'd like to thank the club and Gary Gill and Victor Orta for all their hard work in bringing in the players we wanted.

"In previous seasons we have been busy and we haven't been able to bring in the players as early as this, so I'm pleased to have the players and been able to work with them."

A number of the summer signings were completed before the players headed off to the annual summer training camp in Marbella and Karanka handed several their debuts during the club's pre-season programme.
