The Boro squad are on the way to Cornwall as Neil Warnock’s side step up pre-season preparations.
The travelling party depart Teesside International Airport on Monday for a week in the south-west, a tried and tested pre-season destination for boss Warnock.
The trip will include a stop off in neighbouring Devon tomorrow, the first match action for Boro’s players in a behind-closed-doors friendly against League One Plymouth Argyle.
Midfielder Jonny Howson says it is chance for the group to come together.
“I think it’s always a good thing,” he said.
“You get to know the lads, spend more time together and after a week at Rockliffe things will go up a gear in terms of training as well.
“OK, the manager was here at the back end of the last season, but it’s a new season and everyone will be eager to impress.
“We’ve got a week down there Cornwall and we’ll be looking forward to it before the real thing starts.”
