Dimi Konstantopoulos is confident in Boro's current position in the Sky Bet Championship table and believes the Teessiders are well-placed in the promotion push.
Aitor Karanka's side are without a win in five league games, but were unlucky to come away with three points at Elland Road on Monday after Jordan Rhodes' goal was ruled out.
Despite taking three points from a possible 15, Boro are just two points shy of Hull City at the league summit and have a game in hand over the Tigers.
"We're still second with a game in hand," said Dimi after Monday's game at Elland Road.
"It was never going to be easy but we're in a good position.
"Every team has a bad spell and I think if we get out of this bad spell still being in the top two we can be ok."
The Boro keeper was also keen to pay tribute to the travelling fans from Teesside and insists the fans have played a huge part in the team's success this season.
"The fans were fantastic and brilliant at Leeds," said Dimi. "They're always so loud and vocal that you sometimes forget you're playing away.
"Credit to them for travelling on a cold Monday night and a massive thank you because they're a massive factor in that we are where we are."
Boro take on Cardiff City at the Riverside next Tuesday and you can secure tickets here.
