A deal has been agreed with French Ligue 1 club Nantes for the transfer of Brazilian defender Fabio Da Silva.
The former Manchester United man – a twice capped Brazilian international – heads to France after spending two years with Boro.
The 28-year-old was signed from Cardiff City following the club’s promotion to the Premier League and made 54 appearances during his two seasons as a Boro player, scoring two goals.
His debut came in the EFL Cup defeat at Fulham in August 2016, and his first goal followed 12 months later in the same competition, when he netted in a 3-0 win against Scunthorpe United.
After missing a chunk of last season through injury, Fabio returned to the first team in April to feature in the run-in, and his final appearance came in the Play-Off semi-final second leg at Aston Villa.
Popular with fans, Fabio departs with the best wishes of all at MFC.
