Ritchie De Laet started his career with Royal Antwerp where he made nine appearances before earning a move to Stoke City, who were then a Championship side.
He played one game on trial for Bournemouth in the summer of 2008 before returning to Stoke City.
In January 2009, the highly-rated De Laet joined Manchester United. He made his debut in the final game of the season, as a left-back, against Hull City.
Despite being a Manchester United players, De Laet spent the majority of his time away from the Premier League giants on loan.
He first left Manchester United and joined Sheffield United for a brief loan spell in September 2010 when he made six appearances for the Blades in the Championship.
Upon returning to Old Trafford, he departed once again shortly after to Preston North End in November 2010 where he made just five appearances.
His transfer movement throughout the 2010/11 campaign continued as De Laet joined Portsmouth for the rest of the season where he made 22 appearances.
His fourth and final loan away from Manchester United was to Norwich City in the Premier League.
He signed on a season-long loan for the Canaries, but returned to United in January 2012 having made seven appearances and scoring one goal.
In May 2012, Ritchie De Laet permanently left Manchester United and joined Leicester City in the Championship for the start of the 2012/13 campaign.
The Belgian made 48 appearances and scored two goals for Nigel Pearson's side in his first season as the Foxes reached the play-offs, but lost the semi-final in dramatic fashion to Watford at Vicarage Road.
The following season, he made 38 appearances and scored two goals alongside David Nugent as Leicester stormed the Championship and were promoted to the Premier League.
De Laet played a big part for the Leicester side that escaped relegation at the death in their first season in the Premier League, making 28 appearances.
This season, he has played 15 times for Claudio Ranieri's side as Leicester reached the Premier League summit.
The defender has already scored this season and made his most recent appearance in the 1-1 draw against Aston Villa on January 16.
