Watford provide the opposition for the opening day fixture on Saturday September 12 when we travel to Vicarage Road before Bournemouth, now under the stewardship of new manager Jason Tindall, make the trip to the Riverside the following weekend.

A trip to QPR completes a first month that is dominated by league games on the weekend and Carabao Cup ties during the midweeks.

The first game after the potential crowd return date of October 1 is against Barnsley at the Riverside on Saturday October 3 while the same month throws up a midweek trip to Bristol City (Tues Oct 20), followed by the long trek to Cardiff just four days later. Neil Warnock's side will be travelling a whopping 1,118 miles that week!

The weekend before Christmas throws up a first meeting with our former manager Aitor Karanka and his Birmingham City side at St Andrew’s (Sat Dec 19) before we entertain Rotherham United on Boxing Day.

The festive period continues with a trip to Sheffield Wednesday (Tues Dec 29) and a first ever league trip to Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday January 2. There is no New Year’s Day fixture this season.

The new year will see visits from Birmingham (Sat Jan 16), Brentford (Sat Feb 6), Huddersfield (Tues Feb 16), Bristol City (Tues Feb 23), and Cardiff (Sat Feb 27) before back-to-back trips to Coventry (Tues Mar 2) and Swansea City (Sat Mar 6).

Easter brings a Good Friday trip to Bournemouth (Fri Apr 2) and a Monday visit from Watford (Apr 5) before a season run-in that comes to a conclusion with an away trip to Luton (Sat May 1) and a final day clash with Wycombe at the Riverside (Sat May 8).
