The Middlesbrough Supporters Forum have confirmed that 550kg of food and £340 in cash was donated to the Middlesbrough Foodbank by generous supporters at our recent home match against QPR.
With the support of MFC, the Forum once again arranged a donation point close to the North Stand turnstiles for dry and non-perishable foods, or cash donations which are gratefully received, to support the invaluable work the foodbank does in the town.
Middlesbrough Foodbank is part of a nationwide network of Foodbanks, supported by the Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
Following the success of the collection point last season, another one was held at the weekend, with more than half a tonne of food and £340 donated.
Caroline Walker of the Middlesbrough Supporters Forum said: “It was an incredible day.
"The generosity of the fans was overwhelming and we’ve had our biggest collection yet.
"Thanks to everyone who contributed I know how much it means to the Foodbank and the people it helps.”
