Boro boss Neil Warnock is weighing up his available options ahead of Sunday’s Championship opener at Fulham.
The boss has selection dilemmas as he considers his first starting line-up of the season.
New signings Joe Lumley, Uche Ikpeazu, Lee Peltier, and Matt Crooks could all make their debuts while Martin Payero is still awaiting on international clearance and Sammy Ameobi is ruled out with a knee injury.
“We’re waiting on the clearance for Martin so that’s obviously a priority for us at the moment,” said the boss. “He came in yesterday and met a few of the lads and he’ll train with everyone this morning.
“Sammy unfortunately has a problem with his knee that keeps flaring up. He’s no nearer to being fit than he was three or four weeks ago.”
The boss also confirmed that Isaiah Jones has had a mask fitted after he needed facial surgery following a clash at Rotherham in the final pre-season friendly last week.
