A sell-out away following celebrated Chris Wilder's first win as Boro boss at Huddersfield on Saturday.
2,300 travelling fans saw Duncan Watmore score twice in the space of six first half minutes and were in good voice throughout.
A delighted Boro boss said: “The fans travelled down in numbers and it's not been the best of days weather wise. I suppose when they looked out the window in the morning, maybe there might have been a little bit of doubt in terms of coming but maybe not as well, because that’s what they are about.
“They were stood in the cold cheering us into the changing room before the game wishing us all the best. It is priceless that we have that connection and we don’t underestimate that.”
