Steve Agnew says Gaston Ramirez will be assessed before Wednesday's match against his former club Hull City.

Ramirez was forced off in Sunday's game against Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium, but the Uruguayan international could return to action midweek.

"Gaston got a kick to the ankle and it was sore, but it's improving and he has a chance," Agnew said.

"He's had a good morning and we'll assess him again tomorrow [Wednesday]."

Meanwhile, Agnew has been pleased by the progress George Friend and Calum Chambers are making as they continue to recover.

"George and Calum are running, they're progressing nicely," he said.

"It's difficult to say exactly when they will be ready but they're not too far away."

Fabio da Silva will also miss the next two games at least as he recovers from concussion.
