  • Martin was born in the Argentinian town of Pascanas in the province of Cordoba.
  • He made his professional debut as a 19-year-old for Banfield against San Martin in the Liga Professional Primera Division.
  • He scored his first senior goal in a Copa Argentina victory over Juventud Unida on 27 February 2019.

  • Payero started 12 of 13 games in the competition (missing the other through suspension) as surprise package Banfield reached the final, where they were only beaten on penalties by giants Boca Juniors.
  • Banfield then qualified for the 2022 Copa Sudamericana, a continental competition, by beating Velez Sarsfield in a play-off.
  • Martin has made a total 60 domestic appearances, scoring three goals and collecting 11 assists.
  • One of the most highly-rated youngsters in his homeland, the midfielder has caught the eye with his athleticism, dribbling and set-piece delivery.
  • Having trained with Argentina’s Under-20s, Martin was part of the Argentina Olympic squad in July 2021, and made two appearances in Tokyo from the bench. They were eliminated in the group stage, despite picking up four points from their three games.
