In the same week as the first team hammered five past Newcastle, our U23s put four past Darlington while our U18s hit seven against Bradford City.

Graeme Lee's U23s followed up their 7-1 mauling of Hull City last week by putting four past the National League North Quakers.

Rumarn Burrell led the way with two goals while Sam Folarin and Ste Walker were also on target in a 4-2 victory.

Walker had opened the scoring from the penalty spot before Luke Charman's first goal of pre-season levelled matters on the hour.

Folarin restored Boro's advantage shortly afterwards and Burrell followed up by making it 3-1.

A visiting trialist did reduce the arrears, but Burrell capitalised on a defensive mix-up to make it 4-2.

First team boss Neil Warnock was in attendance at Rockliffe with Marc Bola joining Walker and Folarin in making an appearance after being in last night's Carabao Cup squad.

The game also saw former Boro defender Tony McMahon line up for the visitors. McMahon played the opening 45 minutes after signing for the club last week.

The U18s have already beaten Yorkshire rivals Leeds in pre-season and they followed up by putting seven without reply past Bradford.

Sam Collins, Josh Coburn, and Calum Kavanagh all bagged braces, Fenton John completing the rout.

The game also saw a full debut for U16 Max Howells while three of his U16 team-mates also had time on the pitch.
