Youngster Hayden Hackney has joined Scunthorpe United on loan until January.
The 19-year-old midfielder will link up with former Boro defender Neil Cox, who is the boss at Glanford Park.
And the Boro connection runs deeper at the League Two club, with Tony McMahon assisting Cox while Hackney's former Boro U23s team-mate Tyrone O’Neill was among their summer recruits.
Redcar-born Hackney made his senior Boro debut last season in the FA Cup at Brentford and he also gained his first Championship outing on the final day of the campaign against Wycombe.
Hackney has been a regular in our U23s for the past couple of seasons and has started their three games so far this term.
Scunthorpe have lost just one of their opening five games and Hackney will be hoping to gain senior experience during his time at the club.
Everyone at MFC wishes Hayden the best of luck at Scunthorpe.
