Boro’s international stars have headed off to link up with their respective nations in good heart after Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Queens Park Rangers...
Darren Randolph joins up with the Republic of Ireland squad after marking his return from injury with a fine performance at Loftus Road.
Robbie Keane will join Randolph as Ireland face New Zealand in a friendly on Thursday before taking on Denmark in a vital Euro 2020 qualifier on Monday.
Paddy McNair and George Saville face two big qualifiers for Northern Ireland, taking on the Netherlands in Belfast on Saturday before travelling to Germany three days later. The Green and Whites are still in the hunt for automatic qualification for Euro 2020 going into their final games.
The international break will give Saville the opportunity of game-time during his three-match suspension from Championship action, following his red card against Derby.
Saville, who was at QPR on Saturday and celebrated Britt Assombalonga’s goals with as much as gusto as the 1,449 travelling fans, is available for selection for both Northern Ireland games despite his domestic ban.
Marcus Tavernier did play a key role at QPR on Saturday and he joins up with England U20s for the games against Portugal and Iceland. Stephen Walker, who was an unused sub at QPR, is on standby for the Young Lions.
Nathan Wood is also on international duty with England U18s who play Russia, Norway, and the Czech Republic in Spain while Paddy Reading has joined up with Scotland U21s for their game against Greece on Friday.
