Italian international Diego Fabbrini has completed his season-long loan move from Watford.

The 24-year-old, who travelled with the Boro squad to Doncaster on Saturday ahead of completing the formalities, finalised his move to the Riverside on Monday.

The highly-rated Fabbrini follows in the footsteps of Tomas Kalas by joining on a season-long loan and his arrival will further strengthen Aitor Karanka's squad ahead of the new season.

Fabbrini, whose Italy debut came against England in 2012, is no stranger to the Championship, having had loan spells at Millwall and Birmingham City last season, as well as featuring for Watford.

Speaking after Saturday's 0-0 draw at Doncaster, Karanka said he was also hoping to finalise the move for Uruguayan striker Christian Stuani this week.
