Boro midfielder Lewis Wing has scooped the Carabao Cup Player and Goal of the Round from the fourth round for his match-winning performance and goal against Crystal Palace.
Wing’s superb long range effort against the Premier League side – his first goal in Boro colours – helped book a place in the quarter-finals of the competition, where we will host Burton Albion.
The midfielder clinched the Player of the Round accolade with 54% of the votes in a poll, beating Manchester City star Kevin de Bruyne, Tottenham Hotspur's Heung-Min Son, and Scott Fraser to the prize.
The 23-year-old's scintillating strike against Palace also earned him the Goal of the Round, fending off efforts from Bournemouth’s Junior Stanislas, Burton’s Jake Hesketh, Onel Hernandez of Norwich City and Son from Spurs.
