Young goalkeeper Brad James played a key role as Hartlepool United moved a step closer towards a potential EFL return.

Pools beat Bromley 3-2 in a National League play-off eliminator at Victoria Park on Sunday.

In front of 1,700 fans, Pools marched into a 3-0 lead against an in-form Bromley side. Former Boro striker Luke Armstrong was on target for the home side, netting the second goal.

Visiting Bromley reduced the arrears early in the second half before another late goal set up a tense finale.

James and his Hartlepool team-mates now face Stockport next Sunday in the National League play-off semi-finals. The winners will meet either Notts County or Torquay United in the final.
