Julien de Sart was introduced at half-time as Steve McClaren's Derby County faced Newcastle United.

Trailing to Matt Ritchie's first-half goal, De Sart and Derby were unable to capitalise on a number of second half chances as the home side ran out 1-0 winners at St James' Park.

With plenty of game time under his belt in the infancy of his time in Derbyshire, de Sart is keen to continue to prove his worth in the Derby midfield.

He told RamsTV: "I have settled in well and I enjoying every day and every game that I am involved in.

"I feel that I have started to build good relationships with the players in the squad.

"I hope over the coming days and weeks that it will get even better. The way the manager wants to play suits me perfectly, so it has been easy for me to settle at this club."

Callum Cooke made his debut in senior football with loan club Crewe Alexandra on Saturday.

Cooke played 90 mins, but his side were well beaten as Exeter City made it 12 games unbeaten with a 4-0 win.

The young winger is looking to get as much as possible out of his time at Gresty Road.

"It's my first loan move and a great opportunity," he told the Crewe Chronicle.

"It's still early days but the lads have been welcoming and I'm settling in well already.

"Hopefully I'll show what I can do. this should be a good experience for me."

A stoppage time header from peter Clarke saw Connor Ripley's Oldham Athletic record a crucial win against Chesterfield.

Ripley now has a league-high 11 clean sheets for the Latics, who leapfrog Chesterfield in the table.

Defender Alex Baptiste is currently out of action for Preston North End with a knee injury, while Harry Chapman is still recovering from an ankle problem after making a loan return to Sheffield United in January.

Tomas Mejias and Carlos de Pena await first competitive action for their loan clubs, the pair were unused subs for new sides Rayo Vallecano and Real Oviedo at the weekend.
