Ben Liddle and Hayden Coulson made debuts for their loan clubs this week, while there was a Team of the Week appearance for Sam Stubbs as he continues to impress for Notts County.
Ben Liddle made his bow for promotion-chasing Forest Green Rovers in midweek, and was celebrating his first win in EFL football for them come Saturday. The 20-year-old midfielder played the second half of Rovers' 2-0 defeat to Swindon on Tuesday, and was a 79th minute substitute in the 3-0 win over Yeovil four days later.
The match had a Boro Academy feel to it - our former defender Nathan McGinley started for Rovers and fellow alumnus Junior Mondal scored the opener on his full debut having joined from non-league Whitby Town. Alex Pattison played the full game for the visiting Glovers, who are now a single point above the League Two relegation zone after this sixth straight defeat.
Hayden Coulson was another to make his first League Two outing on Saturday. The full-back played the final half-hour for Cambridge United as they played out a stalemate with Tranmere Rovers.
Sam Stubbs continues to shine in defence for new club Notts County. The centre-back played the full 90 minutes as The Magpies earned three more precious points in the fight for survival, edging local rivals Mansfield 1-0. That's back to back wins for League Two's bottom club, and a place in the Football League Paper's Team of the Week for Stubbs.
Aynsley Pears is another impressing at his loan club. The goalkeeper saved a penalty to pick up a second successive clean sheet and Man of the Match award in Gateshead's 2-0 win over Dagenham and Redbridge. Heed are now unbeaten since early January.
Luke Armstrong was involved for Accrington Stanley in their Friday-night fixture up at Sunderland. The on-loan forward came off the bench with 20 to play as Stanley saw a 2-0 lead pegged back at the hands of the Black Cats, nevertheless holding on for a worthy point at the Stadium of Light.
Stephen Walker was another celebrating his first success in his loan club's colours this weekend. He played the final few minutes for MK Dons in their 3-2 victory at Carlisle United.
Andy Lonergan will expect to be involved for Rochdale - who didn't play at the weekend - in what could prove to be a crucial match tomorrow night, after his emergency loan was extended last week. Dale will be looking to increase the breathing space between themselves and the relegation zone with a home win against League One's bottom club AFC Wimbledon.
Marvin Johnson made his first appearance for Sheffield United since mid-December on Saturday. The winger, ineligible to face parent club Boro for the Blades in midweek, played the full 90 minutes for Chris Wilder's side in their 4-0 win over Reading.
After an assist in last week's 3-0 win over a Real Betisside including former Boro man Antonio Barragan, Martin Braithwaite played 77 minutes for Leganes as they were beaten by the same scoreline against Real Sociedad on Saturday.
