The action kicked off on Friday night for the first of our loanees, with Enes Mahmutovic starting in defence for MVV Maastricht at FC Volendam.

MVV took the lead through Joeri Schroyen with half an hour played, but eventually succumbed to a 4-1 defeat to the home side.

The next day, Sam Stubbs was at centre-half for Hamilton Academical as they travelled to Aberdeen looking for a first win in 11.

But Sam Cosgrove's 19th goal of the season won it for the Dons in the second half, a result which sends Accies to the foot of the Scottish Premiership.

Elsewhere in Scotland, Mitch Curry was a late substitute for Inverness Caledonian Thistle in their 3-1 loss at Partick Thistle.

James Keatings netted an overhead kick for Callie, but it wasn't enough to prevent a surprise defeat to Partick at Firhill.

Zach Hemming was in goal for Blyth Spartans, who exited the FA Trophy to National League North side Stockport County.

Hemming produced several good saves in the match, but County showed their superior league standing to secure a 4-2 win.
