Lewis Wing scored a timely first goal for loan club Rotherham United to boost their hopes of avoiding the drop from the Sky Bet Championship.

Having come close to netting on several occasions since joining the Millers in January, midfielder Wing steered home an 86th-minute free-kick in Saturday's clash with Blackburn to earn what could be a crucial draw for Paul Warne's side.

Adam Armstrong had capitalised on a defensive lapse to put Rovers ahead, but Wing stepped up to curl home the equaliser late on.

The draw - Rotherham's first point in six games - puts survival firmly in The Millers' hands, with the Championship's bottom three all on 40 points, and Derby County three ahead.

The Rams face relegation rivals Sheffield Wednesday on the final day, but before that, Rotherham have an additional game against Luton Town to make some ground on the others, Warne's men then facing Cardiff on the weekend.

Elsewhere, Isaiah Jones played his final match of the season with Queen of the South in the curtain call to the regular Scottish Championship season, the Doonhamers losing 2-0 to second-placed Dundee.
